App license, membership billing and how virtual routes work.

App license and availability

RIDGE is a walking-adventure app for iPhone with a widget and paired Watch companion. It is preparing for launch. Preview images and planned membership prices on this website do not mean the app is currently available to download.

The app is offered under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which describes the software license and applicable rights and responsibilities. Apple purchases are also subject to the Apple Media Services terms that apply in your storefront. Nothing on this page removes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Membership billing

Planned U.S. membership prices are $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year. There is no free trial. The annual price is billed once per year, not monthly. Local storefront prices and applicable taxes may differ. Check the App Store purchase sheet for the exact price, period, and terms before confirming a purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings. Apple charges the selected payment method and manages renewal, billing, and purchase records. Access depends on a valid, verified entitlement and can change if a purchase expires, is refunded, or is revoked.

Manage or cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting RIDGE does not cancel it. See Apple's cancellation instructions. Use Restore Purchases in the app to check eligible purchases for the same Apple Account. Refund requests are handled by Apple under applicable purchase terms.

Virtual journeys and walking credit

RIDGE uses accepted walking steps to advance a companion through a virtual route. Each route version has a fixed step budget based on its published distance divided by a 0.75-meter reference step, rounded up. This conversion is not a personal stride measurement. Ordinary flat-ground walking counts; elevation does not multiply credit.

Accumulated progress continues across days and rest days. Plans provide pacing advice and do not change a route's target. The same fixed budget applies to repeats, with overflow retained. Progress depends on available step data and may be delayed or unavailable.

Terrain and route scope

Route-area elevation models, artistic surface textures, and illustrative paths are distinct. They do not represent surveyed navigation tracks, current trail conditions, live weather, or a certified route corridor. Completing a virtual route does not mean you have physically completed that route.

RIDGE is not a navigation service, emergency service, or medical service. Walk in places and conditions appropriate for you. App imagery is an illustration of the virtual experience.

Local progress

RIDGE does not require a RIDGE account and does not provide account-based cloud recovery of journey data. Removing the app, losing a device, or losing local storage can remove saved progress. Restoring a membership does not restore lost journey data. See the privacy policy for local storage and Health access details.
