Steps and Apple Health

My journey hasn't updated.

Open RIDGE on your iPhone and check the displayed data status. Make sure your step count is available in Apple Health and RIDGE has permission to read it. Health updates and widget refreshes can be delayed; an old or missing reading is not the same as zero steps.

How do I change Health permissions?

Open the Health app, open your profile, find Apps under Privacy, and choose RIDGE. You can change permission to read steps there. Exact labels may vary with your iOS version. RIDGE requests step-count reading, not permission to write Health data.

Does walking on flat ground count?

Yes. Elevation is not required and never multiplies your progress. Camera movement, companion edits, animations, and a new calendar day do not add walking credit.

Why is my widget or Watch behind the app?

Open RIDGE on the iPhone so it can refresh step data. WidgetKit controls widget refresh timing, and a paired Watch may receive the shared journey later. The app and companions show the same saved journey; they do not independently award extra credit.

Membership and purchases

Planned U.S. pricing is $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year, with no free trial. Membership purchasing will be available in the app after launch. Your local App Store purchase sheet shows the applicable price before confirmation.

How do I restore a membership?

Use RIDGE's Restore Purchases action while signed in to the Apple Account used for the purchase. Make sure you're online. If access is pending, Apple may still be processing or awaiting approval for the transaction.

How do I cancel or manage billing?

On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and select RIDGE. Apple handles billing. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple's current cancellation instructions.

How do I request a refund?

Visit Apple's Report a Problem service using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Apple determines refund eligibility under the terms that apply to your purchase.

Your journey and local data

RIDGE does not require a RIDGE account. Journey progress, companion choices, achievements, and recent walking summaries are stored locally. The app shares the saved journey with its widget and paired Watch companion.

Removing the app can remove its saved local data. RIDGE does not provide account-based cloud recovery or cross-device progress restoration. Restoring a subscription restores eligible purchase access; it does not recreate a lost journey.

You can revoke RIDGE's Health permission without deleting your original Apple Health records. Manage or delete those records through Apple Health separately. Read the privacy policy.

Routes and source information

Open a route's source information in RIDGE for its endpoint definition, published distance, and fixed step target. Targets use ceil(published distance in meters / 0.75); the reference step length is not your measured stride.

Everest covers South Everest Base Camp to the summit. Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim covers South Kaibab Trailhead to North Kaibab Trailhead. Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim finishes at Bright Angel Trailhead, a different South Rim trailhead from its start.

Measured route-area elevation, artistic surface texture, and illustrative route geometry are separate. The app is not a navigation tool, a surveyed trail map, or proof of a physical summit or crossing.
